Part-time work in Europe, gender, women

A new report, Part-time work in Europe, combines data from two Eurofound surveys, the European Company Survey and the European Working Conditions Survey, to see how part-time work is distributed - across sectors, across countries and according to gender. It highlights the multifaceted issues surrounding part-time work and finds that, for the moment, while part-time workers may enjoy a better work-life balance, they earn less and lose out on access to training and career advancement. Part-time jobs in high-skilled management positions do exist, but they are still very much an exception.
