Associations Between Systemic Quality of Life and Burnout Among French Canadian Workers
Burnout has very often been studied from a work-life specific perspective. However, a recent field of research leads to wonder about the impact that life events can have on the development of burnout. This study therefore investigated the associations between five domains of systemic quality of life and the three dimensions of burnout proposed by Maslach and colleagues. An analysis of correlations and multiple hierarchical regressions were performed on a sample of 202 French Canadian workers. These analyses report inverse associations between quality of life and burnout, with strong negative correlations...

À la demande du ministère de l‘Agriculture et de l'Alimentation, l'Anact a réalisé une étude pour mieux éclairer les liens entre les enjeux économiques, de conditions de travail et de protection animale. Socioeconomic position, psychosocial work environment and disability in an ageing workforce: a longitudinal analysis of SHARE data from 11 European countries
Objectives Prevention of disability in the ageing workforce is essential for sustaining economic growth in Europe. In order to provide information on entry points for preventive measures, it is important to better understand sociodemographic, socioeconomic and work-related determinants of disability in older employees. We aimed to test the hypothesis that low socioeconomic position and exposure to a stressful psychosocial work environment at baseline contribute to later disability. We further assumed that the association of socioeconomic position with disability is partly mediated by exposure to...

Informal workers across Europe: evidence from 30 Countries
The European Social Survey data are used to analyze informal employment at the main job in 30 countries. Overall, informality decreases from South to West to East to North. However, dependent work without contract is more prevalent in Eastern Europe than in the West, except for Ireland, the UK and Austria. Between 2004 and 2009, no cases found when unemployment and dependent informality rates in a country went up together, suggesting that work without contract is pro-cyclical in Europe. Dependent informality rate is inversely related to skills (measured by either schooling or occupation). The low...
