Age and Work-Related Health
Insights from the UK Labour Force Survey Data from the UK Labour Force Survey (LFS) are used to examine two methodological issues in the analysis of the relationship between age and work-related health. First, the LFS is unusual in that it asks work-related health questions to those who are not currently employed. This facilitates a more representative analysis than that which is constrained to focus only on those currently in work. Second, information in the LFS facilitates a comparison of work-related health problems that stem from current employment to a more encompassing measure that includes...

Roles of age, length of service and job in work-related injury: A prospective study of 63,620 person-years in female workers.
Background The roles of age, length of service and job in various work-related injury types are unknown and deserve investigations among female workers.
Source : http://www.anact.fr/web/actualite/essentiel?p_thingIdToShow=13597556
Flexicurity: Actions at Company Level
The aim of flexicurity is to improve employment opportunities for workers, while at the same time increasing flexibility, enabling organisations to adapt their operations and employment levels to business needs. The past few years have, however, been particularly challenging for European labour markets: the recent financial crisis and recession have had an inevitable negative impact on EU labour markets and unemployment levels. This has called into question the effectiveness of the flexicurity strategy in terms of supporting vulnerable workers. Eurofound research in six EU Member States analysed...

Workforce diversity and risk assessment
Ensuring everyone is covered This report highlights the need to carry out inclusive risk assessment; to take into account the diversity of the workforce when assessing and managing risks. Workers are not all exposed to the same risks and some specific groups of workers are exposed to increased risks (or are subject to particular requirements). When we speak about workers exposed to ‘particular' or ‘increased' risks, we refer to workers subject to specifi c risks due to their age, origins, gender, physical condition or status in the enterprise. Such people may be more vulnerable...
