Resource Road Safety Assessment: Pilot Project on Mobile Mapping Systems
This project aimed to develop a new system for assessing the safety of resource roads. It investigated the efficiency of collecting road geometry data using a mobile mapping system, created software tools to automate the extraction of sight distances from road geometry data, and developed a final product to aid road managers in planning upgrades and making road networks safer.
