The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), through the Prevention through Design Program, launched the Going Green: Safe and Healthy Jobs initiative to make sure that green jobs are good for workers by integrating worker safety and health sustainability. Foresight of New and Emerging Risks to Occupational Safety and Health Associated with New Technologies in Green Jobs by 2020
This report describes the work carried out in Phase 1 of the project ‘Foresight of New and Emerging Risks to Occupational Safety and Health Associated with New Technologies in Green Jobs by 2020' commissioned by the European Risk Observatory (ERO). The aim of Phase 1 is to identify key contextual drivers of change that could contribute to creating new and emerging risks associated with new technologies in green jobs within ten years. Best Practice for Building and Working Safely on Ice Covers in Alberta
This Best Practice has been developed to provide a summary of current practices for construction and operation of transportation facilities and working platforms that rely on floating ice for structural adequacy. The focus is on advice that provides effective overice operations while ensuring that a standard of care necessary to protect worker safety is the highest priority.
